This morning, the school visited St Mary's Church to celebrate Harvest Festival in a service led by Reverend Liz.

The children began the service by offering donations to the Church's chosen destination, the Daventry Food Bank, and Reverend Liz thanked all of the children and parents for their thoughtful and plentiful donations.

The children sang harvest festival favourites including 'Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green' and Class Four read the Parable of the Sewer. In this story, a sower dropped seed on the path, on rocky ground, and among thorns, and the seed was lost. But when seed fell on good earth, it grew, yielding thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.

Class Four also read some prayers that they had written, thanking God for the fruits and vegetables that we harvest at this time of year.

St Mary's Church will be hosting their family service on Sunday 7th October, with lunch in the village hall available, with a ticket, afterwards.
